If you're looking for the most epic art night out, you seriously do not need to look any further than this Thursday after sundown. In its fourth year, the Art Museum of the America's "Art After Dark" melds philanthropic values with video art, installation work, food trucks, drinks, DJ's and of course the art from AMA's current exhibit.
This year, the event promises to be the largest of all, with performances from Dangerous Muse, an ultra trendy "electronic rock project" led by '80's transplant songwriter and vocalist Mike Furey, a slew of locally based food trucks and exclusive VIP access for only 45 bucks a pop (that includes drinks, my friends!). And like every year, video art will be projected on the exterior walls of OAS Headquarters (maybe we're lame art geeks, but we can't resist electronic graffiti...). Proceeds from ticket sales ($25 for general admission and $45 for VIP) help support the AMA's effort to engage communities and promote the spread of democratic values through art and art education.
Art After Dark runs from 8pm-12am at Art Museums of the Americas, 201 18th street NW. For more information on the event, artists participating and to buy tickets click here.
